The first Iranian event outside Iran throughout the West the “Iran Expo 2016” took place from November 22nd to 26th in Rome.
The event, organized by Fiera di Roma in collaboration with the Italian-Iranian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was strongly supported by the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Trade and Mining and IIEC Iranian International Exhibitions Co.
Five days entirely dedicated to Iran and to relations between Iran and Italy through businesses companies  and a series of simultaneous cultural events. The scope of the exhibition was not only to highlight the opportunities for economic exchanges, but also to create chances for contact between the institutions to spread Iranian culture and civilization in Italy and throughout Europe.
An exhibition area of over 7,000 square meters divided into two different areas. A purely exhibition area with the participation of about 150 ministries, ministerial organizations, public and private companies, including Irasco, trade associations, with its own management and its products, dedicated to the different product sectors including gastronomy, and culture with literature, tourism and crafts. A second area called MEETING YARD was dedicated to B2B meetings with institutional meetings, company meetings, technical seminars, stage workshops and display desks.

During the B2B meetings, Irasco was able to lay the foundations for future profitable collaborations with Italian companies. Among these, the company Thermomelt, which deals with the production of plants and components for the steel industry, has proved immediately interested in entering the Iranian market, making itself available immediately to a meeting both in Genoa, headquarters of Irasco, that directly in Iran having already identified a possible business partner. Thermomelt’s initial strategy is to supply components waiting to be able to directly manufacture their products in Iran, with the support of local design and engineering.
In the city at the same time, a series of cultural activities, shows, gastronomic events, exhibitions photographs, the Iranian Food Festival and didactic moments further encouraged the knowledge of the Iranian country and culture.
